and music tuition in London
I
have many years' experience teaching piano and music theory privately
to adults and children. I hold the CT ABRSM qualification
from the Associated
Board and have coached many successful candidates
for the AB graded exams, though I don't pressure anyone into taking
these.
I teach two weekly classes at the City
Lit, the prestigious adult education
college in Covent Garden, London: Pop
Piano and Vocal
Musicianship.
In January I shall be teaching a
short course at the City Lit: "Writing
Song Tunes", which first ran last July.
I take an open-minded approach to teaching and use a combination of
tried and tested methods and books with some of my own teaching
material.
Partly inspired by experience of teaching, I've composed a number of moderately easy piano pieces which go down well with my students and others, mostly in a broadly "jazzy" style.
I'm based in Wandsworth, south-west London, and can visit, timetables
etc. permitting.
